The most common skin cancers are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, as you can read in the corresponding topic in dermato-oncology.
These tumors must be removed along with healthy tissue to reduce the risk of recurrence or metastasis. In areas such as the face and elsewhere, it may not be possible to close and suture the wound. In these cases, we apply special surgical techniques so that the wound can be properly closed. These techniques include flaps and skin grafts.
